Newcastle United are keeping close tabs on the situation of left-back Kieran Tierney at Arsenal.
The Scottish international joined the Gunners from Celtic in 2019 and soon became a cult favourite with the Gummers fans, because of his insistence on wearing shirt sleeves whatever the weather, and for his decision to carry his personal effects in a supermarket bag, rather than an expensive wash bag with a designer label.
However, he has lost his first-team place this season to Oleksander Zinchenko, with the Ukrainian preferred because of his ability to drift inside and move into the midfield.
Tierney is under contract at the Emirates until 2026, but there is a suggestion that Arsenal could be willing to listen to offers of £30 million.
However, they will want to ensure they sign a replacement first, because Zinchenko has experienced his fair share of injury problems in his career, and they do not want to leave themselves short in any position on the pitch.
