Bayern Munich have joined Paris Saint Germain in the race to sign Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech.
Ziyech came close to joining the Ligue 1 side on loan on transfer deadline day, only for the move to collapse at the last minute, with Chelsea blamed for having sent over the wrong paperwork to the French Football Federation, meaning he could not be registered in time. An appeal by PSG to get the transfer registered anyway was rejected..
He has continued to appear for Graham Potter’s side since, but, with a major summer clear out at Stamford Bridge expected, the Moroccan is one widely regarded as surplus to requirements.
Ziyech was Frank Lampard’s first signing as Chelsea manager, but he has rarely been given a sustained run in the side during his time in West London.
PSG are still interested in signing him, this time on a permanent basis, but now face competition from the German champions.
