Gabriel Martinelli has agreed a new contract with Arsenal.
The Brazilian’s existing deal expires next summer, although that did have the option of a further two years.
However, he has now agreed a new contract until 2027 with an option of a further year (something that the club are introducing into all new contracts now).
The Brazilian international will see his weekly wages more than double from £70,000 to £180,000 a week.
He was virtually unknown when he was signed from lower league Brazilian football as an 18 year old, but has gone on to become one of the first names on the team sheet under Mikel Artet
And he has also gone on to become a fully-fledged Brazil international, and was part of their squad for the Qatar World Cup, where he made three appearances in all.
For Arsenal fans it is now one down two to go, with contract extensions for Bukayo Saka and William Saliba also on the club’s to do list.
