Arsenal may be struggling to land their January transfer targets, but they have succeeded in appointing a new attacking coach.
Hussein Isa, who is 34, will join the club’s technical team where his job will be to work with forward players, both at first team and Academy level.
Isa has acquired the nickname “Tekkers Guru” which owes its origin to his skills and free-kick ability which he has showcased online. His remit will include focusing on technical aspects for strikers such as their first touch, shooting ability and heading.
Isa is a former non-League attacking midfielder who played for both Tottenham and QPR at youth level, and also represented England at futsal. He has also doubled for the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Agüero and Eden Hazard in TV commercials.
He is set to begin his new role in the summer, in time for the start of the 2023-2024 season.
