Chelsea could be ready to hijack Arsenal’s move to sign Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
The Gunners have made the Shakhtar Donetsk player their top target in the January transfer window, but their opening bid was rejected by the Ukrainian club.
They have now submitted an improved offer, which Shakhtar are considering.
Despite suggestions that the player may already have agreed verbal terms on a five year contract with the Gunners, this still leaves the door open for Chelsea to gazump their North London rivals with a mega bid of their own, something they have not been afraid to do in the past.
And with them closing in on the £`100 million plus signing of Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Benfica, it appears Todd Bioehly is not afraid to splash the cash during the current transfer window.
