Chelsea close to deal for Brazilian teenager

Chelsea may have been beaten by Real Madrid to the signing of 16 year old prodigy Endrick, but it looks like they are on the verge of signing another highly talented Brazilian teenager in the form of Andrey Santos.

The 18 year old midfielder, who currently plays for Vasco de Gama, has been followed by a host of clubs, among them Newcastle United and Manchester City, but it looks like Chelsea have won the race for his signature.

It has been reported that a deal between the two clubs has already been agreed, and that the player is expected to fly to London to have his medical shortly.

The fee has not been disclosed. His contract did contain a £42 million release clause, but it is unlikely that Chelsea have paid anything like that for a player who is still unproven, and that Vasco were a Brazilian second division club last year.
