Real Madrid are hoping to sell Eden Hazard back to Chelsea.
When the West London club sold the Belgian international to the Spanish champions in 2019 for a fee in excess of £90 million, he was at the height of his powers and considered one of the best players in the world.
But a series of injuries and a loss of form have seen his fortunes plummet, and although he has collected two league titles and a Champions league whilst he has been in Spain, he has been relegated to the status of a bit part player.
He has just endured a poor World Cup with Belgium, and decided to retire from international football after their early exit from the competition.
He still is highly regarded from his time at Stamford Bridge, and, with the club looking to sign an offensive wide player, with the futures of both Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic both in doubt, a return may be on the cards, although at a fraction of what they received for him.
