Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos in January.
The 18 year old only made his debut with his Brazilian club Vaso de Gama earlier this year, but has already established himself as a fixture in the centre of their midfield.
And that form has not gone unnoticed by a number of big clubs in Europe, with PSG, Barcelona and Newcastle United amongst those tracking his progress.
However, Chelsea have moved quickly and have beaten their rivals to the punch, and have agreed a deal worth £13 million to sign him. Barring any unforeseen developments in the next few weeks, Santos looks set to become a Chelsea player shortly.
It looks set to be a busy window at Stamford Bridge, with striker Christopher Nkonku also expected to arrive in West London, having already agreed personal terms on a £52 million move.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
