Chelsea are reportedly prepared to meet the wage demands of French midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
He is currently playing in Serie A with Juventus, where his annual salary is set to reach £6 million, a figure that is too high for the Turin club given their current financial difficulties.
Rabiot is out of contract with them in June, and there is a widespread expectation he will leave when it ends, if not before.
Prospective suitors may be put off by his monetary demands with the player reportedly wanting £8 million from a new employer. That, however, has not deterred Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, who is apparently ready to pay him what he wants.
It has been claimed meanwhile that Juventus were ready to sell him to Manchester United in the summer, but that his financial demands were too rich for their taste.
His agent is his mother, and she has acquired a reputation of being difficult to deal with in negotiations.
