Arsenal have made an offer for Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.
That is according to reports in Italy which suggest they have tabled a bid of £52 million for the young Shakhtar Donetsk star.
The Gunners have made signing a winger a January transfer priority, as they look for back-up and competition for Bukayo Saka.
They were linked with the Ukrainian in the summer, but decided not to bid for him then because of his price tag, which has only increased subsequently because of his performances in the Champions League.
However, conscious that they need to invest in the January window to maintain their title challenge, there is a growing acceptance that they are prepared to negotiate with Shakhtar in order to reach an agreement.
The Gunners already have a Ukrainian connection having signed Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City in July.
