Chelsea have emerged as a possible destination for Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese was axed from the United squad for the match between the pair at Stamford Bridge on Saturday after leaving early before the game against Spurs at Old Trafford the previous week, after refusing to come on as a late substitute.
With his relationship with Erik ten Hag seemingly irretrievably broken, he is now looking to leave the club when the January transfer window opens.
And now it has emerged that Chelsea’s new co-owner Todd Boehly is open to signing him, with his close relationship with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes a major factor.
Boehly wanted to sign Ronaldo in the summer, but faced opposition from his manager at the time, Thomas Tuchel.
However, with the German now gone, he is ready to try again.
Signing for Chelsea would fulfil Ronaldo’s aim of joining a club involved in the Champions League.
