Chelsea have begun talks with Mason Mount about a new deal at the club.
Although he still has nearly two years left on his current contract, Chelsea are keen to secure the 23 year old’s future in West London, although discussions are not yet at an advanced stage, with Mount preferring to concentrate on the World Cup and England at this stage.
Nevertheless, optimism is high on both sides that agreement can be reached with Mount set to become one of the top earners at the club.
It continues the policy of trying to secure the future of the best young talent at the Premier League side, with team mate Reece James have recently agreed to a renewal.
Mount has been named Chelsea Player of the Year for the past two seasons, and it is hoped he will help provide the backbone of the club for many years to come.
