Midfielder N’Golo Kanté wants to stay at Chelsea, despite being linked with a return to France and PSG.
Now 31 years old, Kanté is in the final 12 months of his current deal at Stamford Bridge, which means both club and player have a decision to make about his future.
Kanté ideally is looking for a new contract of three or four years, whilst Chelsea have a policy of only offering short-term deals to players over 30.
Ideally the club do not want to find themselves yet again next summer with another key player having ruin down his contract.
There is also a question of his fitness, with the player having become increasingly injury prone the older he gets.
For the moment, Kanté is not considering other options and his representatives have not reached out to other clubs. That may change, though, depending on what view Chelsea take about his future.
