Arsenal have agreed in principle a bumper new contract with Bukayo Saka.
Agreeing a new deal with the Hale End graduate has been one of the club’s top priority for several months now, and it seems that a breakthrough has finally been made.
The 21 year old, who has been Gunners Player of the Year for the past two years, is close to signing a deal that will bring his earnings close to £200,000 a week, propelling him into the same bracket as other top earners like Thomas Partey and Gabriel Jesus.
It is believed that he is now ready to sign a new five year deal with the club worth a reported £52 million in total.
With less than two years left on his current deal, there were fears that one of their rivals could try and tempt him away, with Manchester City reported to have been monitoring developments.
Saka, though has always indicated that his preference has been to stay with his boyhood club, and appears to have been convinced by their resurgence under Mikel Arteta.
