Houssem Aouar is once again being linked with a move to Arsenal.
The Lyon midfielder has been a target for Arsenal since Mikel Arteta took charge in North London, but, at that time, his club Lyon did not want to sell him and slapped a £50 million price tag on the French international, leading to a cooling of interest.
However, circumstances have changed, Aouar’s stock has fallen somewhat, and an ankle injury has kept him out of action this season since the opening day match against AC Ajaccio.
And he is also in the final year of his contract with the Ligue 1 side which means that January is their last chance to get any value from his sale, or he will leave for nothing next summer.
And that means he could be available for as little as £12 million when the transfer window opens again, although there may be no shortage of suitors for the once highly rated player.
