Early odds for winners of the Premier League

The Premier League is one of the world’s most watched football leagues and one that continues to excite fans with each fixture that continues to be played.

Given the standard of football within the league, it does not matter if fans are watching a title clash, a relegation battle, or even a mid-table clash between two teams that are rather even. This is because fans know they are guaranteed to get plenty of excitement when the whistle is blown.

Indeed, it is also one of the leagues in which many bettors continue to enjoy, too. Many sports bettors continue to place wagers on the games that are played throughout the Premier League season. As a result, we have seen a rise in searches for the best apps for parlay betting as many continue to want to place multiple wagers across the different fixtures to be played.

One of the top betting markets typically happens to be trying to name the outright winner of the Premier League, with many punters seemingly enjoying the ability to make a prediction about what could happen by the end of the season.

With this in mind, we thought we would take a look at the early predictions that have been made by sportsbooks and look to explain the odds that have been given in order to try and help you make an informed decision.

Manchester City favorites

At a price of -300, it is hardly a surprise to learn that Manchester City are the favorites to be crowned the Premier League winners once again. Pep Guardiola’s side managed to capture the title last season in the final matchday, however they appear to be well ahead of everyone else once again at this stage of the season.

Erling Haaland is one of the reasons why this is the case, with the Norwegian sensation having already bagged himself 10 goals in his first six appearances in England’s top league: grabbing himself the Player of the Month award for August in the process. Of the 10 goals, he has also managed to get back-to-back hat-tricks after netting three against Nottingham Forest just days after achieving the same feat against Crystal Palace.

Who can potentially challenge Man City?

For many, Man City are already the Premier League champions and it is a foregone conclusion at this early stage of the campaign, however as we all know, the season is a marathon and there is still plenty of time to go.

So, with this in mind, who could potentially challenge the Citizens for the Premier League title?

Liverpool are thought to be the closest challenger, despite the fact that they have had a very poor start to the campaign by their own standards. They have just two wins from their six games thus far, with three draws and one defeat – a loss to Manchester United. The Reds are priced around the +700 mark, but Jurgen Klopp’s side will need to get back to their very best as soon as possible if they are to push Guardiola’s side all the way once again.

Other potential challengers include the likes of Arsenal (+1200), Tottenham Hotspur (+1400), Manchester United (+2000), and Chelsea (+3300). However, each of these teams have found it difficult to remain consistent and there has also been plenty of change, too.

Man City have to be the only team

Given their fast start to the Premier League season in what is a rather unique campaign with the 2022 FIFA World Cup being played in the middle of it, it is almost impossible to look beyond Manchester City as the next Premier League champions.

The current holders have already started in an emphatic fashion, and while it can be argued that they have yet to play any of their main rivals thus far, they have managed to blow any of the other teams that they have played out of the water and it is very unlikely that they will ever look back.

As mentioned, it is impossible to rule out a challenge from anyone else at this stage of the season as we are only a handful of games in, but it would be a shock not to see the current champions lifting the title once again at the end of the campaign.
