William Saliba is set to sign a new deal with Arsenal.
The French centre-half only made his senior debut for the Gunners in the opening Premier League game of the season against Crystal Palace, three years since he first signed for the club.
Having spent the intervening period almost exclusively on loan back in France, there were many who feared they would never see him in an Arsenal short.
But he has settled in brilliantly to life in England, ahs already become a cult figure with the club’s fans, and has netted twice, with his goal against Bournemouth in August voted Premier League goal of the month.
With less than two years left in his current deal, Arsenal were keen to secure his future and to stop any clubs hoping to make a move for him next summer.
But now it seems that both parties have reached an agreement, with Saliba set to sign a new deal that will keep him at the Emirates until 2027.
He is currently away on international duty with France.
