Ajax want to re-sign Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea before the transfer window closes.
Ziyech was Frank Lampard’s first signing as Chelsea manager, but he has struggled to ever establish himself at Stamford Bridge, and appears surplus to requirements under Thomas Tuchel.
The Dutch champions are now in the market foe a wide layer, after agreeing to sell Antony to Manchester United, for a fee of around £80 million.
He began his senior career with Heerenveen, and then had a spell with FC Twente, before joining the Amsterdam club. He went on to make 112 appearances for them, scoring 38 gaols, before Chelsea came calling.
If he does leave West London, he will depart with a Champions League and Club World Cup winner medals in his pocket.
Even though he was born in the Netherlands, Ziyech qualifies to play for Morocco through his parents and has 40 senior caps to his name, although he is currently not part of the international set-up after a row with the coach.
