Chelsea are ready to submit a new bid to sign Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.
They have already had three offers turned down by the East Midlands club, the latest £70 million, but they are undaunted and remain determined to capture their man before transfer deadline day.
Fofana has made it clear that he wants to leave Leicester, and asked to be left out of the team for their Premier League game against Southampton last weekend, claiming that he was not in the right frame of mind.
Leicester may have in mind the figure of £80 million that they received form Manchester United for Harry Maguire three years ago, valuing the young French international just as highly.
With time running out now before the window closes, it may be a case of who blinks first, but Leicester know that having an unhappy player on their hands will nothing for squad harmony in the season ahead.
