Chelsea closing in on Gordon deal

Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Everton attacking midfielder Anthony Gordon.

And Gordon has reportedly told the Merseyside club that he wants to leave them because he wants to play in the Champions League.

The Blues have already had two bids turned down by the Merseyside club, but with the West London side now ready to pay up to £60 million for a player who has only had one full season in the Premier League.

With Everton now reconciled to losing one of their brightest talents, their priority now is to get the deal done as soon as possible so that they have time to source a replacement before the transfer window closes on Thursday week.

He could well be one of three new arrivals at Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks, with Thomas Tuchel’s side also pursuing deals for Wesley Fofana and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
