Chelsea have signed Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei.
Their initial bid of £7 million was turned down by the Serie A side, but they have now submitted a revised offer of £14 million plus bonuses, and that has been enough to secure the services of the Italian under-19 international.
Regarded as one of the brightest emerging talents in Europe, Casadei moved to Inter from Cesena as a 15 year old, and quickly established himself in their youth ranks, although he has yet to play a senior game for them.
He did, though, score 17 goals for Inter’s under-19 side last season.
Regarded as one for the future, he does not appear ready yet to challenge for a first-team place at Stamford Bridge.
The two clubs have already done business this summer, with Chelsea lending Romelu Lukaku back to the Italian club, and the London side remain interested in a deal for wing back Denzel Dumfries.
