Ligue 1 side Nice are interested in a loan move for Arsenal winger Nicolas Pépé.
The Ivory Coast international became the Gunners most expensive signing when he was bought from Lille for £72 million, but he has struggled to adapt to Mikel Arteta’s style of play, and is now very much a peripheral figure at the Emirates.
He made his last Premier League start in October 2021, and had to be content with a handful of appearances off the bench after that, although he did score an equaliser against Wolves in February.
Therefore, a loan, with an option to buy, would kale sense for both club and player, and would remove a potentially unhappy voice from the dressing room.
The 27 year old still has two years left in his current deal, but the club are now eager to move him on, recognising that they will never get back anything like they paid for him (the circumstances of his original transfer fee remain controversial).
