Napoli in talks about Kepa loan

Napoli are in talks with Chelsea about a loan move for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The world’s most expensive keeper when he was signed from Athletic Bilbao for a fee of just under£72 million four years ago, Kepa lost his place as first team regular when Édouard Mendy arrived at Stamford Bridge, and is looking for more regular game time with the World Cup on the horizon.

Napoli themselves need a new number one following the departure of former Arsenal keeper David Ospina, who last month joined Saudi club Al-Naser on a free transfer.

The Serie A side cannot afford to buy the 27 year old permanently, nor are they even able to cover his wages. Instead, Chelsea are ready to subsidise up to 75% of them during his time in Italy.

It is hoped that that the move could be sealed by the end of this week.
