Ross Barkley has been put up for sale by Chelsea.
The Englishman joined the Blues from Everton for £15 million in 2018, but, although tipped for big things, has never managed to nail down a starting position at Stamford Bridge.
And now, as Todd Boehly continues to shake-up his squad, he has been told that he is no longer wanted.
He spent the 2020 – 2021 season on loan with Aston Villa, but the West Midlands club turned down the option to sign him on a permanent basis.
He returned to West London, but struggled for game time last season, making just 14 appearances in all competitions.
Former clubs Everton and Villa have both been offered the chance to sign him.
Barkley currently earns £100,000 a week, so selling him would help trim the wage bill at Stamford Bridge.
His current contract expires in less than a year’s time.
