Chelsea have made an opening bid for PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe.
The sum offered for the 26 year old is reported to be £42 million.
Thomas Tuchel is looking to fill the void left by the departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger, and has already recruited Kalidou Koulibaly and continues to pursue a deal for Jules Koundé of Sevilla.
French international Kimpembe has spent his entire professional career with PSG, but has been told that they are willing to let him leave if they receive the right offer.
He made 41 appearances for the French champions in all competitions last season, scoring two goals and one assist.
Renowned for his commanding presence at the back, he is known for his positional sense, anticipation and tackling ability. He is also adept at playing out from the back, although does not make the buccaneering runs Rüdiger used to in a Chelsea shirt.
He can also play left-back which is potentially an advantage for Tuchel.
