Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has agreed to join Valencia.
The Uruguayan international was a surprise inclusion in the 33-man squad that flew out with the Gunners on Wednesday for their pre-season tour of the USA, because he appears to have no future at the club.
He has spent the past two seasons on loan, first at Atlético Madrid and then Fiorentina, and, although the Serie A club then reneged on a deal to sign him at a pre-agreed price, he continued sot be heavily linked with a move back to Italy.
However, it now looks like he will be heading to Spain and Valencia, who are now managed by Gennaro Gattuso, who is said to be a long-standing admirer of the player.
Although no fee has yet been mentioned, Arsenal will not stand in the way of a player who failed to settle in North London if a price close to their valuation of him, can be agreed.
