Southampton are monitoring the situation of Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill.
The 19-year old academy graduate, who is an England under-21 international, impressed last season whilst on loan with Huddersfield Town, playing an integral role in the team that were eventually beaten in the Championship play-off final.
He signed a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge last summer before heading off for his loan spell, and Chelsea have already indicatedthat they wany a closer look at him in pre-season training before making any form decision about his future.
Colwill, who primarily operates on the left-side of a back three, has been compared to a young John Terry.
It is unlikely that Chelsea will determine that Colwill is old enough yet to fill one of the vacant places in defence in their Premier League rivals, but another loan, this time with a top level team,. Coukld be viewed as another step in the young player’s development.
