Arsenal defender Daniel Ballard’s proposed move to Burnley is off.
The Northern Ireland international was poised to become Vincent Kompany’s first signing as Burnley manager but the deal ahs now collapsed with Ballard unable to agree personal terms with the newly relegated club.
Matters had progressed as far as the player having a medical, but will go no further, unless the Lancashire club can meet his financial expectations.
It is still likely that Ballard, who has yet o make a senior appearance for the Gunners, will move on thins summer. He made 30 appearances for Blackpool in League One in the 2020 – 21 appearance and followed that up with another successful spell with Millwall in the Championship last season.
He already has 15 senior caps for Northern Ireland and there will be e ready market for a player who has proved his ability to do a job for a club outside the Premier League.
