Chelsea fans frustrated by the lack of concrete transfer activity from the club this summer may be assuaged by the news that the club intends to do a lot of business in this transfer window.
Reports suggest that Thomas Tuchel is going to be given close to £200 million to spend, which could mean up to six new faces at Stamford Bridge before the start of the season.
Defence is a priority, with the pursuit of Juventus centre=back Matthijs de Ligt continuing. And there may also be reinforcement at full-back, with Lens’ right back Jonathan Clauss one name under consideration.
There are also likely to be arrivals further forward in the team. One potential target is England winger Raheem Sterling who is about to enter the final year of his contract with Manchester City, and the Blues have also been linked with Barcelona’s French international Ousmane Dembélé.
There may also be a spate of departures too in West London. Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger have already left the club, Romelu Lukaku is to return to Inter Milan on loan, whilst César Azpilicueta, Hakim Ziyech, Marcos Alonso, Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Kepa Arrizabalaga could all be headed for the exit door,
