Arsenal may have made a slower start to the summer transfer business than their fans would have liked, but it seems they are making up for lost time now.
Having signed Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira out of the blue, and with a deal for Gabriel Jesus edging closer, now come news that the Gunners want to sign Ajax defender Lisandro Martínez.
They have already had a £25 million offer for the Argentine turned down by the Eredivisie side, but are expected to go back with an improved bid.
Martínez is a left-footed centre back, who was recently voted Ajax Player of the Season. He can also play at left back and further forward in a midfield role.
He was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa América last season, and is reported to be keen on moving to North London and getting the chance to play in the Premier League.
