With a superb goal average for both Atletico Madrid and Chelsea FC, Costa has represented both the Brazilian and Spanish national teams in international football.

Born in Brazil, Costa first played senior football for Portuguese team Braga, and moved around several teams, mainly on loan, before settling down with Atletico in 2010. There, he impressed with 43 league goals in 94 games, helping the club to a La Liga title.

He then moved to Chelsea in 2014, where he scored a record seven goals in his first four Premier League matches. In three competitive seasons, he netted a productive 52 goals in 89 league games, helping the London side to two Premiership triumphs.

He moved back to Atletico before recently appearing for Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro for the 2021 season.
