Sevilla have confirmed that French central defender Jules Koundé wants to leave the club this summer.
This time last year the 23-year old was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea but remained at the la Liga side after they refused to budge on his valuation of him.
However, he has remained firmly on the radar of the West London side, and they are widely expected to bid for him again to replace the departed Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen.
Given that he is now a year deeper into his current contract, the Spanish side will have no option but to be more flexible on price this time round and now the onus is on Chelsea to make the first move as they begin their expected rebuild of defence under Thomas Tuchel.
