The sporting director of Serie A side Sassuolo have confirmed that Arsenal are among the clubs to show interest in striker Gianluca Scammaca.
The Italian had a productive season for the club last season, scoring 16 times, and his form has attracted the notice of some of the top clubs in the country and from abroad.
Scammaca is reported to be on the Gunners’ shortlist as they step up their hunt for a new striker this summer, along with Gabriel Jesus and Alvaro Morata.
Sassuolo do not want to part with one of these best players and are seeking at least £45 million before they will listen to any offers.
The player himself has indicated that his preference is to stay in Serie A.
With the departure of Alexander Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah is now the only recognised senior striker at the Emirates, although there has been no official confirmation from the club that he has signed his new five year deal.
