Roma are keen on signing Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerín.
The Spaniard is due to return to the Emirates after a season spent on loan with his boyhood club Real Betis, helping them win the Copa del Rey, their first silverware in more than 16 years.
Both player and club would have liked to make his move to Seville a permanent one, but they are unable to afford the fee of around £`15 million that the Gunners want for the player who is under contract with them until 2023.
That has opened the door to other suitors, with Roma among the most prominent.
The Serie A club came close to signing Granit Xhaka last summer, and did take Ainsley Maitland Niles on loan, but he disappointed under Jose Mourinho, and they have not taken up their option to make that move permanent.
Whatever happens, Bellerín’s ii year association with Arsenal is expected to end this summer.
