Alexander Lacazette is set for a return to Lyon, the club he left in 2017 when he joined Arsenal for a then club record fee of around £50 million.
He has gone on to make 206 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 76 goals and providing more than 30 assists.
However, last season was his most disappointing campaign in North London. He scored just 6 goals in 36 appearances, and lost his first-team place towards the end of the season to Eddie Nketiah.
A free agent at the end of the month when his current deal expires, there have never been any credible suggestions by the North London side that they were prepared to offer him an extension, and whilst his influence among the younger players in the dressing room is highly regarded, his lack of goal threat means that the club are now looking elsewhere.
His departure from the Emirates has already been confirmed.
