Arsenal want to sign Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The 25-year old Belgian international has one year left on his current deal with The Foxes, but has made it clear that he has no interest in signing an extension and wants to move to another club.
That means that the East Midlands club are now prepared to sell him this summer to ensure that he does not leave for free in 12 months’ time.
The Gunners have made strengthening midfield a summer priority, along with adding to their striker options, and believe Tielemans offers a more mobile option than Granit Xhaka, although he is not best known for his defensive abilities.
Several other teams are also potentially interested in the player, so the Gunners may need to convince Tielemans that, despite missing out in Champions League football, that Arsenal still represent an interesting project for him.
