Manchester United are considering a shock summer move for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
They are hoping to take advantage of the fact that Mount’s contract talks at Stamford Bridge stalled following the protracted takeover of the club, and that his long-term future of the Chelsea academy graduate is no longer secure.
Despite being one of the first names on the team-sheet under Thomas Tuchel, Mount is one of the lowest paid member of his first-team squad currently.
Eric Ten Hag first became aware of Mont’s abilities when he had a loan spell in Holland with Vitesse Arnhem, and has been tracking his progress ever since.
And Liverpool and Manchester City are also rumoured to have made discreet enquiries about the potential availability of the player who finished Chelsea’s top scorer last season.
