Inter Milan are set to hold talks with representatives of Romelu Lukaku about a return to the Serie A club for the Belgian striker.
Lukaku re-signed for Chelsea for a club record fee of £97.5 million, but the move has not worked out as either player or club would have liked. He started in just 16 Premier League games and finished the season with 15 goals from 44 appearances in all competitions.
He alienated many Chelsea fans as well by giving an interview to Italian television in January in which he regretted leaving Inter in the first place.
Any deal for him is complicated by the wages that he is currently on at Chelsea, and also whether the West London club are prepared to write off so much of their investment so soon.
Inter are yet to hold formal talks with Chelsea whilst they try and find a formula that might work for all parties.
