Chelsea are interested in signing RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku.
Thomas Tuchel wants to boost his forward options after a season in which Mason Mount finished the club’s top scorer in the Premier League with 11 goals.
And Nkunku, who is being tracked by a number of clubs, is high on their list of possible targets.
The 24-year old is in contract negotiations about a new long-term deal with the Bundesliga side, but it is believed that if any attractive enough offer is received from another club, he could be tempted to look elsewhere.
In order to make way for a new forward, there may need to be departures from Stamford Bridge, though, and Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech could all be moved on to make way.
And then there is Romelu Lukaku, the club’s record signing, who has failed to live up to expectations on his return to West London, although his salary will be a major stumbling block for any club looking to sign him.
