The agent of Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has blamed Fiorentina for his proposed permanent move to the Serie A club collapsing.
When he was allowed to join the Serie A side on loan at the start of last season, it was agreed that they would have the option to buy him on a permanent basis for £12.5 million, although there was no obligation on them to complete the deal.
Now they have changed their mind and have taken advantage of the Uruguayan’s enjoyment of life in Italy, by trying to prune his wages, and also renegotiate the fee they are willing to pay the Gunners.
Now Pablo Bentancur says that the midfielder seems destined to return to London, and has pointed the finger of blame squarely at Fiorentina, accusing them of acting in bad faith.
Torreira is under contract at the Emirates until June 2023, so now the club have the additional headache of trying to find a new buyer for him.
