Chelsea are worried that they are set to miss out on one of their key transfer targets as the delays in the sale process continue.
Monaco midfielder Aurélian Tchouaméni has long been on the Stamford Bridge wish list, but he has already agreed personal; terms with both Liverpool and Real Madrid. Chelsea would be prepared to match those terms, but they are unable to enter discussions with the player’s representatives, whilst the current uncertainty about the club continues.
Real, in particular, having missed out on Kylian Mbappé, are desperate to add the highly rated French international to their ranks for next season.
Monaco are reported to want £50.9 million for Tchouaméni, which will represent a considerable profit for them on a player whom they bought from Bordeaux for a fraction of that sum just over two years ago.
He is widely expected to feature in France’s World Cup plans later this year.
