Arsenal loanee William Saliba wants to stay at Marseille.
He cites his desire to play Champions League football as one of the reasons, knowing that if he returns to the Emirates he will have to content himself with the Europa League next season.
Saliba signed in the summer of 2019 from St. Étienne, has never played a single senior game for the Gunners.
Instead he has remained in France during a succession of loan moves and his spell with Marseille ahs proved the most successful. He has been named Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year and earned his first call-up to the France senior squad.
Whether he gets his wife or not remains to been seen. He is under contract at the Emirates until 2024, and the Gunners will want to recoup close to the £25 million they originally paid for him.
