Mohamed Elneny has signed a one year extension with Arsenal.
The deal is also reported to include an option for a further year.
He was spotted immediately after the team’s last game of the season against Everton at the Emirates on Sunday, posing for the club photographer with a pen in his hand about to sign a piece of paper.
The Egyptian international is one of the players who is out of contract at the Emirates ina few weeks’ time, but now speculation about his immediate future appears at and end.
The arrangement appears to suit both parties. He has never made any secret of hi desire to stay at the club, whilst Arsenal need a deeper squad for next season to cope with the demands of European football again.
He is also somebody content to sit on the bench most of the time without creating problems, ready to slot into the side if and when needed.
