Best quotes about Danny Welbeck

Currently plying his trade with Premier League team Brighton & Hove Albion, Welbeck was a product of the youth academy at Manchester United FC. Spotted as a six-year-old, we take a look at some of the plaudits given, and the best quotes about Danny Welbeck.

Born in Manchester to Ghanaian parents, Welbeck worked his way up to the Red Devils first team, and competed in seven seasons at Old Trafford.

Playing primarily as a forward, he is seen as a strong player with pace, and good heading abilities, and his appearances in the 2012/13 season helped the club to win the Premier League.

His goal-scoring strike rate improved when he signed up with fellow Premiership rivals Arsenal, with a hat-trick in a Champions League game, and the winning goal against his former Mancunian team, on route to the London club winning the FA Cup in 2015.

Having just recently helped his present team Brighton to their highest ever finish in the top flight of the league with ninth place in the table, Welbeck can also boast a stellar career with the England youth squads with 36 internationals for five different age groups, and 11 goals.

His strike rate with the senior national team was also considerably better than his domestic performances with 16 goals in only 42 matches. Having made his debut in 2011, he was a regular in the team between 2012 and 2014, netting an impressive 13 times. Welbeck made two World Cup finals appearances and one European Championship.

He had actually made his international debut against Ghana, the team who were looking to have him play for their national side due to his parentage.
