Best quotes on Harry Maguire

Signed for a world record fee of £80 million for a defender from Leicester City, Maguire has become an integral part of the defensive line-up at Manchester United and the England national football team. Big in size, 6 foot 4, and heart, we take a look at the best quotes on Harry Maguire.

Born in the English city of Sheffield, he worked his way through the local football club’s youth system, before eventually ending up at Leicester City in 2017.

After playing in every minute of the 2017/18 season for the club, he was transferred to Old Trafford for a record fee for a defender in the summer of 2019, after much speculation. It only took him five months before he was named the new club captain.

An ever present for the majority of the time, he equalled Gary Pallister’s United record for the most number of minutes played consecutively with 71 league games, before being substituted in the next match. Despite not having won anything so far in his career, Maguire was one of the main faces as the England national team performed tremendously in the recent World Cup and European Championship tournaments.

In 2018, he scored a goal in the quarter-finals as England reached the semi-finals of the World Cup, and then netted in the quarter-final win as the nation came runners-up in the 2020 Euros. He was named in the team of the tournament, before going on to become England’s highest scoring central defender soon after.
