Chelsea are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.
The Brazilian could leave the Spanish champions this summer with talks over a contract renewal at the Bernabeu having stalled. That has forced to consider selling him, with a fee of around £45 million having been mentioned.
Casemiro has been the defensive lynchpin of the midfield trio, alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, that have helped make Real one of the dominant teams in Europe in the past few years.
He has made over 300 appearances for the La Liga team, but his association with them could be coming to an end, with the two parties failing to agree to his salary demands before putting pen to paper on a new deal.
Chelsea may be looking for a new holding midfielder with uncertainty regarding the futures of both Jorginho and N’Golo Kanté, both of whom are being linked with a move away from West London.
