Winger Reiss Nelson will hold talks about his future once he returns to London with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
The 22 year old is coming to the end of a season long loan with Feyenoord in the Eredivisie. He struggled at first at the Dutch club, but then adapted and played a key role in the side’s run to the final of the Europa Conference League, where they will play Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
A number of other Premier League clubs are reported to be interested in the Englishman, but his priority remains Arsenal.
He is under contract at the Emirates until 2023 so, realistically, both parties have a decision to make about his future this year. Either tie him down to a new long-term deal with guarantees of playing time or another loan next season, or sell him whilst he still has a market value.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
