Serie A side Lazio want to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea in the summer.
Their coach Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of the English midfielder from their time together at Stamford Bridge, and wanted to bring him in last year.
It was under Sarri that Loftus-Cheek showed his best form, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 40 appearances, before he suffered a serious injury in a post-season friendly that effectively derailed his career for a year.
This year he has made 17 appearances under Thomas Tuchel, and reminded everybody of his quality by scoring the opening goal in their FA Cup semi-final win over Crystal Palace.
However, he is by no means a guaranteed starter and with his current contract in West London due to expire in 2024, Lazio are hoping to exploit the financial uncertainty surrounding Chelsea and engineer a sale.
