It seems that William Saliba has finally made his mind up, and has decided that he wants to return to Arsenal and fight for his place next season.
The 21-year old, who was signed from Saint-Étienne for £27 million three years ago, has never played a senior game for the Gunners.
Instead, he has enjoyed a series of loan moves back in Ligue 1, first with this original parent club, them with Nice, and, this season, with Olympique Marseille.
They have hinted that they would like to sign the central defender permanently, and Saliba himself has inferred previously that he Is open to the idea.
However, with the Gunners now almost certain to be playing European football of some sort next season, it now looks like he will be guaranteed some playing time if he returns to the Emirates.
So good has Saliba’s form this season been, that he recently earned a call-up to the French squad, and, with two years left on his contract, Mikel Arteta’s team are under no pressure to sell him just now.
