Barcelona are no longer interested in signing Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
He had topped their wish list for a young left-sided central defender, but a move for the Brazilian has been ruled out on the grounds that they cannot afford him.
The Brazilian will still have three years on his current contract at the Emirates this summer, and the Gunners have no wish to sell him – indeed there have been suggestions that he may be offered a new deal at the end of the season.
The North London side have made it clear they will not listen to offers of les than £35 million, for a player they bought from Lille less than two years ago, and that is beyond the current financial reach of the Catalans, who are primarily relying on free transfers like Andreas Christensen, who has already agreed to join the club, when his contract with Chelsea ends.
